The Scientific Grounding for Engineering Education
V.S. Idiatulin
Izhevsk State Agriculture Academy
The present day concepts in scientific grounding for students in higher
vocational education are considered. The methodology of natural sciences
and the reflection of the science reality into curriculum and studies
are discussed.
Perturbation Theory for Bohr-Sommerfeld Atom. Hydrogenlike Ions and
Rydberg States of Atoms
S.S. Krasilnikov
Moscow State University
Quantization rules of Bohr - Sommerfeld are reformulated to classical
analogue of quantum mechanical perturbation theory of first order. The
mean value of perturbation potentials of multipole form
< const / rk >
n,l
( k >=2 ) and its dependence on quantum numbers n, l are
calculated ; the results are asymptotically correct at l >> 1.
The examples of shifts and splittings of Balmer energy levels are listed
– fine structure, quantum defects of Rydberg energy levels of atoms,
etc. This method may be used in education courses of atomic physics.
Topical Applied Problems and Their Part in a Modern Course of General
Physics for Higher Technical Education
V.V. Kisin, Yu.A. Zyuryukin, A.á. Knyazev
Saratov State Technical University
Analyzing our teaching experience in Saratov Technical University,
we consider the part played by topical applications in a modern course
of
General Physics
for higher technical educational institutions. The problem is analyzed from
the viewpoint of modern education requirements as well as the lecturer possibilities,
complexity level of the basic physics course, optional (elective) components
of the teaching program, objective sequence, and time resources. The main
purpose of teaching the general physics course in a technical college
is to deliver
a system of fundamental knowledge in physics and to form an adequate physical
intuition in student minds.
Simultaneously, the course should reflect the most topical applied problems.
During the whole history of progress, fundamental and applied science, industry
demands and technological abilities were bind together complementing and
influencing each other. The modern trend of permanent development of those
binding and
fruitful relationships can be illustrated in the lecture course by suitable
examples prepared taking into account the student level of training.
To Solve Applied Problems in Physics is an Important Aspect of Intensification
of the Educational Activity of Students
M.S. Martynov
Academy of the Federal Agency of Governmental Communications and Information
under the President of the Russian Federation, Orel
The article describes the experience in the solution of problems in physics
having intersubject character aimed at the intensification of the educational
activity of students. Some examples of applied problems and recommendations
to the teachers are presented.

Three-levels complex of theoretical and practical skills in general physics
for students of non-physical specialities of technical institutions was
created. The complex of test tasks in written and computer versions has
been checked
up at the department of physics VSAACE and proved its good quality in
control of student’s skills.
Joule-Thompson Effect in Radiation Stimulation of Hydrogen
Release from Metals
I.P. Chernov, V.V. Larionov
Tomsk Polytechnic University
e-mail: chernov@tpu.ru
The paper presents tasks compiled for practical training in physics
(seminars) on "Real gases. Joule-Thompson effect". The tasks are intended
for physical
students and are based on phenomena studied by the authors in their
research investigations. The correlation between scientific and academic
purposes
is always fruitful, and stimulates great interest among students.
Ratio of Full-Scale and Model Experiments in Physical Experiment
Yu.A. Voronin, R.M. Chudiusky
Voronezh State Pedagogical University
The article is devoted to the problem of a ratio between of full-scale
and model types of experiment in physical experimenting. The authors
consider a classification of experiments, and suggest a structural and
functional scheme of getting knowledge with the help of full-scale and
model experiments during the students practice in physics; they also
define similarities and difference of a full-scale and model experiments
in the cognitive and research processes, connected with studying phenomena
and laws of nature; offer a structural scheme of full-scale and model
experiments in the process in cognition; as well as the criteria that
may be used for determining be relation these two types of experiments
and consider the full-scale experiment as be primary one.
Study of Cosmic Rays in a Physical Practical Work of MSTU
P. V. Gramenitsky
Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Physics Department
The practical works on study of cosmic rays in the general physics
lab combining real measurements and computer simulation are described.
Lightsensitive Devices in Atomic Practice of Physics Department of
MSU
S.S. Krasilnikov, N.A. Krasilnikova, I.A. Savchenko, A.V. Smirnov

The experience of use those devices in laboratory practice of Physics
Department of MSU is presented.
Hydrogen Concentration Definition in Metals by the Classical Hoffman
Device
V.V. Larionov, A.M. Lider, I.P. Chernov
Tomsk Polytechnic University
The problem of application of well-known classical devices is considered
for demonstration of new scientific achievement in the field of
modern physics and their introduction in educational process that
allows
simply enough to use information technologies "of direct access".
Observation of Bifurcation Transition in Convective Flow of Air
A.N. Trousevitch, A.P. Pyatakov
M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University
Simple experiment is proposed that enables to observe intricate phenomenon
of nonlinear nonequilibrium thermodynamics by means of horizontal temperature
distribution measurements at different heights over an electric stove.
This phenomenon is organization of the heat air flow into two different
spatial structures separated by the nonequilibrium state zone corresponding
to the bifurcation point.

1Russian State Open Technical University Railway
2Russian State Technical University
The features of construction of a laboratory practical work on physics
are reviewed at a remote method of training, with application of
virtual laboratory activities by means of medium of graphic programming
LabVIEW.
As an example the laboratory activity
"Analyses of radiation spectrums of an ideal black body" is described.
In activities developed with the help LabVIEW laboratory, there is
a capability of implementation
of the fissile form(shape) of experiment: the operatings of the operator
determine outcome, received by him.
Computer Laboratory Practical Work on Molecular Physics
V.G. Suppes, G.M. Poletaev
Kuzbas State Pedagogic Academia
In the present work the opportunity of use of a method of molecular
dynamics is considered at spelling of the programs for a computer
laboratory practical
work on molecular physics. It is shown that the application two-measuring
model of a crystal gives at performance of laboratory work results satisfactorily
conterminous to known experimental values of the investigated characteristics
of metals.
