Physics in Higher Education
Abstracts Historism Principle in Physics Teaching Application of a principle of a historism in teaching of a course of physics in high school is considered. It is shown, that consecutive realization of a principle of a historism promotes deeper mastering of a course and effective formation of scientific outlook.
Experimental and Theoretical Research of Electric Images in Various Systems Results of an experimental research of interaction of the charged ball with not charged conducting plates in conditions when it is possible to consider a ball a point charge are resulted. Research is lead for three plates of the different sizes consistently earthed or not earthed (isolated). Theoretical researches are lead for system a point charge - the conducting not charged sphere also earthed or not earthed. Are found limits small and greater distances between a charge and a surface of a sphere. It is shown, that in all cases grounding essentially influences size of the electric image of a charge.
On the Equality of Coefficients of Mutual Inductivity In the paper some aspects of teaching of mutual inductivity are discussed. The equality of coefficients of mutual inductivity is proved in the simply way.
"Superfluous" Data in Physics Tasks The thesis is developed that "superfluous" data in formulations of physics tasks may be considered as tools with the help of which the skill of pupils to analyze a situation and to take an adequate decision is formed. In such their quality, "superfluous" data in tasks create supplementary conditions, close to real ones, for verification of pupils’ competence.
Properties of Time in Special Theory of Relativity (STR) The concept of invariant time common (with accuracy to initial time) for all inertial frames of reference (IFR) in Special Theory of Relativity (STR) is suggested. The difference in invariant time intervals between two events, in different IFR is explained with relative character of events in STR. The developed concepts are applied to solving typical problems in relativistic kinematics.
Quasiclassical Evaluation of the Hydrogen Atom (Methodical Comments about Teaching the Foundations of Quantum Theory) Taking as an example the quasi-classical model of an atom, the methodology of teaching quantum theory basics in the framework of general course of physics for technical schools, colleges and schools of profile level is considered. The role of dimensional analysis for obtaining the qualitative results is discussed. The succession of physical approximations leading to the construction of Bohr’s model is shown.
Research Work of Students of Faculty of Building and Municipal Economy on Chair of Physics of ISTU In article experience with students of the first years on general educational chair of physics of ISTU is resulted. New level of preparation within the limits of national research university will help to make our graduates claimed on the work world market.
Integrated Elements of Physical Model "Plasmotron" On the basis of a structurally functional method the physical principles of plasmotron functioning are considered. The issue is discussed from the point of view on their integration into the structures of educational process. The conclusion about an opportunity of physical model "plasmotron" inclusion as an element of the integrated educational courses is done.
Skill Development of Working out of Operation Principles of Modern Devices in Semiconductor Physics Researching Education This article discusses some teaching methods of student skill developing of working out of operation principles of modern semiconductor devices in physics researching education.
On the History of General Physical Practicum: Mechanics The century passed since the publication of the first manual for laboratory works on physics written by the professor of Moscow University A.P. Sokolov. Since that time both in Moscow University and other our universities in Russia and abroad, a great number of laboratory works, were created for studying various physical phenomena and laws using a variety of methods. Here we present the book in which the information about laboratory works on mechanics published within the past hundred years are gathered along with a brief description of the history of general physical practicum.
Use of the Computerized Laboratory Installation for Carrying out of Educational Research on Optics The automated laboratory installation with use of the step-by-step engine as the executive device providing rotation of the analyzer at studying of polarization of light is developed and created. The personal computer is used for generation of the impulses operating the controller of the engine and registration of results. Within the limits of laboratory work studying influence of spectral characteristics of sources and photoelectric receivers of radiation on results of check of Ialus’s law is offered.
Film Samples for Demonstration and Researches of Effect Giant Magnetoresistance Film samples and the simples equipment for demonstration and laboratory researches of effect of giant magnetoresistance (Nobel prize in physics for 2007) in CIP geometry at room temperature are described in this article. Two film samples are used (one-layer film Co and three-layer film (magnetic superlattices) Co/Cu/Co) which have similar geometry sizes. This allows demonstrating and studying typical anisotropic magnetoresistance (one-layer film) and giant magnetoresistance (three-layer film).
Quantum Mechanics and Optics: III. The Pedagogical Experiment with Using Analogies The pedagogical experiment is described based on the lecture course in which optical analogies in quantum mechanics are used. This approach is proved to be more efficient as compared to standard method of teaching.
Communication FQW Students with the University and School It is underlined, as the scientific potential of students-physicists NSPU is shaped. Check of a level of this potential final qualifying works can serve. The brief description of one FQW is by way of illustration resulted and communication of this work with the future activity of the student – the graduate proves. The possibility of use of a basis similar FQW as laboratory works on students of coming generations is emphasized.
Educational Research Electrostatic Interactions as Means of Development Experimental Skills of Students As educational research for development of experimental skills of students electrostatic interaction of two conducting charged balls is offered. This system of charges allows showing as feasibility of law Coulomb on greater distances, and deviations from it on close distances between balls. The educational theory and experiment which results are in good conformity are resulted.
On Calculation of Moments of Inertia of a Half-Ball The formulas for calculating the moments of inertia of a continuous homogeneous half ball with respect to the most characteristic axe are obtained using the Huygens-Steiner theorem. This derivation of these formulas is based on the fact that its moment of inertia with respect to an axis passing through the center of its flat side is independent of the orientation of this axis.
