Optical analogies are considered for a number of problems of quantum mechanics arising from similarity of Schroedinger and Helmholtz equations. Formulas of quantum mechanics and wave optics are reduced to the same forms for propagation, reflection, transmission and tunneling of quantum particles and electromagnetic waves.
Key words: optical analogies, wave optics, quantum mechanics, isomorphism of Schrödinger and Helmholtz equations, tunneling.

The problem concerning the form of the electrostatic field potential of the two contacting metallic spheres for the case of different radiuses is solved. The electrostatic capacity of the system, the distribution of the surface charge densities in the quadrature form, the full charges contained on the spheres and the interaction pushing force of the spheres are found. For the interaction pushing force known the laboratory experiment, which aim was to find the charges and potentials normalized by defined parameters given, is considered. Also, the laboratory experiment to observe the electrostriction phenomenon taking into account the shift deformation is suggested.
Key words: potential, contacting metallic spheres; charge density distribution; interaction force.
