Neutrino Oscillations

The last decade was a time of outstanding discovery in the particle physics: hypothesis of neutrino oscillations was confirmed experimentally. The problems connected with neutrino oscillations detection become the topic of courses on "Particle Physics" at Nuclear Physics Department of Moscow State University. This paper gives a short outline of contemporary state in the physics of neutrino oscillations.

The paper deals with some problems of teaching the course of astrophysics at St.-Petersburg State Marine Technical University. It justifies this course importance to the students whose special field is physics. Considered in the paper are measures contributing to high teaching results. The work highlights the role of the Pulkovo Observatory, RAS, in astrophysics popularization.

From these positions in work the explanation for bachelors of fundamental laws of theme of dynamics of rotational movement and their real uses in other parts of physics is presented.

The connection mechanism of a Lorentz force from carriers of current to the conductor as a whole is considered. The relation of the microscopic Lorentz force with the macroscopic Ampere force is proposed.

The method for studying the magnetic field coil with a current by comparing the experimentally obtained dependence of tension along the axis of the coil with the corresponding theoretical dependence with the use of an inductive sensor with ferrite core.  Describe the corresponding laboratory setup, the results of the experiment.

The Experimental Studying of Normal Dispersion of Light in a Course of General Physics in the Optics Laboratory

The mechanism of the normal dispersion on the basis of the classical electronic theory of light is considered in the given operation. The experimental technique by of refractive of a glass prism is presented. Estimate calculations of the exponent of refractive of glass from the point of view of the electronic theory are yielded.

Experimental Verification of Calculations of Electrostatic Field Potential Produced by Electrodes Differing in Geometry (Lecture Demonstration)

The paper presents a procedure of calculating electrostatic potential and intensity produced by a hemispherical electrode and a thin wire ring. Calculations are verified using a device measuring electrostatic field potentials whose sensor is a corona point. Outlined in the paper are an experimental facility and a lecture demonstration based on it.

Fermat’s Principle and Laws of Ray Optics in Advanced Course of Physics at Secondary School

Limiting translation from ware optics to geometrical is considered in theatrical and the principle the Farm is formulated in the article. On its basis conclusion of laws of relation and refraction are shown. This article is devoted to the study of Fermat’s principle. This principle describes that the light travels the path which takes the least time. Two laws of ray optics - Specular reflection and – Snell’s law are derived from Fermat’s principle.

The paper dials with the problems of organization physical laboratory practical works and research activity for high-school students in the system of the physical education of Academic Gymnasium of St. Petersburg state university on the basis of special course of studies "Experimental physics". The mission and structure of the course and organization scientific - research activities of high-school students with the help of this course considered in this work. It was shown that it is possible to use the educational and laboratorial basis of the course for the work with high – school students of different regions for developing their educational and research activities.
