On Didactic Merits of General Physics
V.I. Nikolaev
M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Physics
The peculiarities of terminology of modern physics as the school-subject are discussed. The main attention is
paid to analysis of term formalism of physics, definitions of physical values and physical laws, and also to typical
logical mistakes.

Can Mass Turn into Energy?
G.А. Rozman, S.V. Pan'kova
Pskov State Pedagogical University

The article presents a physics-philosophical analysis of the phrase "Can mass turn into energy?" It is shown that the phrase itself is meaningless from the physical as well as philosophical points of view. In particular it is shown that the common association of the expression with the special theory of relativity is in fact based on misunderstanding.

Why Einstein Rejected Ether Hypothesis? (On the Experimental Foundation of the Special Theory of Relativity)
G.А. Rozman, I.I. Moiseev
Pskov State Pedagogical University

The article shows that the careful analysis of three crucial experiments leads to contradictions in the required properties of ether. Einstein resolved this situation by rejecting the concept of ether as a bearer for the electromagnetic fields. The electromagnetic fields were introduced therefore as irreducible realities. Numerous important consequences both theoretical as well as philosophical followed from the revolutionary rejection, notably the creation of the special theory of relativity.

Rainbow Holograms

In modern wave optics the physical principles of holography are considered, as a rule, on the basis of the set up of recording of the holograms in convergent (Leith and Upatnieks set-up) and in counter propagating (Denisyuk set-up) object and referent beams of light. In the present paper the methodical subject of record and reconstruction of the images with use of a method and set-up of rainbow holography, having now widest practical distribution, due to an opportunity of restoration of the images in white light of usual sources and technologically simple way of duplicating of such holograms are discussed.

Achievements of Physical Science in the Lecture Process: Conducting into Spin Electronics

Russian State Professional-pedagogical University, Ekaterinburg,
e-mail: A.S.Bor@rsvpu.ru

The basic physical principles of the work of devices and the necessary requirements for the materials are presented, serving as the base of the vigorously developing branch of physical electronics - spin microelectronics. This information as achievements and problems of contemporary physical science is useful for the acquaintance of students, as in the special courses, so in the course of general physics.

G.G. Spirin, O.N. Tretyakova, Yu.S. Kondachkov, K.L. Sarkisyan, A.M. Tsurkov
Moscow Aviation Institute (State Technical University)

In this article the conception and the created program realization co-operation distant science centers physics sub-faculties in Technical Universities of Russian Federation based on actual Web-technologies are described. The created Internet-resource for Association physics sub-faculties in Technical Universities of RF, has the purpose to organize transfer of studying materials and create Distance Studying Physic System.

The article considers the derivation of Saha equation for the case of two level model. It could be used for studying equilibrium ionization processes within the framework of a course on Basics of Plasma Physics for third- year students. The derivation of the equilibrium ionization constant is not based on a Gibbs canonical distribution but on calculation of different quantum states probabilities taking into account their degeneracy.

The Methodical Questing of Employment of Computer Experiments in Physical Education
A.M. Tolstik

N.S. Kravchenko, O.G. Revinskaya and V.A. Starodubtsev
Tomsk Polytechnic University, 634034, Tomsk, av. Lenin, 30

Projecting and practical application of computer laboratory works are the important subjects in modern methodology and theory of physical education. In this paper the significance of information technology in educational process is analyzed. On the base of general pedagogical prerequisites the common principles of computer modeling laboratory work for using in course of physics elaboration are discussed.

The simple procedure of the study of the special features of the propagation of flexural waves in the thin plates and the rods based on the example of metallic spring from the tape of rectangular cross section is proposed. This method makes it possible to demonstrate three wave modes of those extending in the spring: "rapid" and "slow" wave of mutually perpendicular polarizations and longitudinal-bending wave with the cutoff frequency. The developed method can be used in the lecture demonstrations and in the training experiment on the principles of the vibration theory and wave theory.
