General Principles for Solution of Physical Tasks (Ten Rules)
V.I. Nikolaev
M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Physics

Ten general principles for solution tasks on physics are discussed. The idea is founded that, being taken together, these principles create the system base for analysis of situations in which the laws of physics play the role of the main tool for achievement the required aim. Methodical aspects of using these principles in teaching process on general physics are considered. All the main statements are illustrated by examples.

The paper describes the experience of compiling multi-media version of the specialized course for students of the Physics Department of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University "Introduction to the Physics of Lasers". The baseline of the course is a sound track of recorded lecturer's presentation for live audience. Then the video frames with formulae, figures, comments etc. are added by means of Macromedia Flash software package. The methodological and technological aspects of creating such course are discussed.

Computer text book "Nonlinear Waves and Nonlinear Optics" is based on lecture course for senior students of the Physics Department and for students of International Laser Center of MSU. Technological base for compiling computer aided courses has been developed in the Research Computing Center of MSU. It is characterized by robust representing of the complex physical and mathematical texts with formulae, ability to include graphics, audio and video clips, and computer animation of 2D and 3D objects, mathematically correct drawing of plots with interactively changed parameters, information subsystems with hypertext links.
To compile the computer textbook we use a text editor (for writing scripts) and Delphi Integrated Development Environment (to develop program components).

The Experience of Using Problems in Education of Students in the Field of Laser-Based Technology
V.P. Veiko, E.A. Shakhno
Saint-Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics

Training of students on laser technology requires different methods. Theoretical course cannot provide development of creative skills of student, which is necessary to solve real technological or research tasks. Therefore using problems in education of students in the field of laser-based technology is very desirable. The general questions of different laser-based technologies (characteristics of technological lasers and laser radiation, optical schemes, main laser-matter interaction problems etc) and questions of specific technologies (cutting, drilling, hardening, welding, film machining etc) are considered in the book of problems. The necessary theoretical information, the examples of solving of problems and the main thermal and optical properties of some material are given.

New laboratory work devoted to study of the mixed electronic- ionic conductors is described. Students should observe a temperature change of Fermi level location and the corresponding change of the electronic conductivity; determine the entropy and the enthalpy values for Ag2Se compound. Introducing silver excess into the sample within a homogeneity range by electrochemical insertion method ones observe a shift the Fermi level deep into the conductivity band and a gradual degeneration of the electronic gas.

Belarus State University

The principles of are given. It's displayed that the variety of the physical and mechanical properties are caused by the different types of crystal structure of SiO2. The principal elements of the theoretical calculation of X-ray radiation pictures for the different types of sand are shown.

The Experimental Computer Complex for Solution of the Heat Diffusion Equation

Tambov State Technical University

The method of investigation of the heat diffusion in metal rod is developed. The experimental technique of solution of the linear heat diffusion equation at the given temporal and boundary conditions is suggested. The temperature distributions along the rod at the different time moments are obtained. Furthermore, we describe the methods of treatment of experimental data using the mathematical computer programs developed at last years.

Skin Effect in the Ferromagnetic Conductor: Direct Demonstration and Quantitative Interpretation
R.R. Zakirov, I.I. Latipov
Birsk State Pedagogical Institute
452453 International st., 10, Birsk, Bashkortostan

A simple experiment to observe a skin effect in the ferromagnetic (iron) wire using a low frequency ("sonic") generator and an electronic voltmeter is proposed. The value of internal impedance of the wire has been chosen as the basic controlled parameter. The experimental results of investigating the normalized internal impedance as a function of ac current frequency are in complete agreement with that predicted by the skin effect theory for the case of cylindrical conductor. The magnitude of the magnetic permeability can be immediately revealed from the experimentally obtained data.

The article is about methodological features and results of carrying out physics laboratory trainings based on usage of the computer models in an institute of higher education. The topics of lectures and practical works were equal to the topics of virtual physics trainings it allowed to use frontal method, when all students have the same task for practical work, but different parameters of the experiment. The computer models make it possible to carry out research works in molecular, atomic and nuclear physics. Virtual physics trainings can be recommended to use for distant teaching.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, 141700, Moscow region, Dolgoprudniy, Institute Street, 9
In this paper, a simple method for measuring of biological objects is reported. The method is applicable to regular or thread-like biological structures with characteristic dimension over the range 10 to 100 micrometers. It is easily understood both by students and pupils, and allows one to obtain large statistical levels in a short period of time. As special equipment, the method requires a laser pointer only.
