The experience of using of photosensitive charge coupled devices in optical division of student educational laboratory on atomic physics for the students of 3-d course of physical faculty of Moscow State University.

The Laboratory Work on the Definition of the Wave Length and the Generator UHF by Means of Lecher Wires
V.V. Larionov, G.V. Garanin
Tomsk Polytechnical Institute
634050 Tomsk, Lenin's av. 30, larionov@galore.tomsk.ru

The paper is dealt with the peculiar features of the improved laboratory work on the investigation of electric waves of Lecher line. The complete engineering data of the equipment are given that allows reproducing it within the university experimental workshops.

The Lecture Demonstrations of Nonlinear Effects in Surface Waves on Water
N.S. Stepanov, P.V. Kazarin, N.F. Uslugin
Nizny Novgorod State University

The installation, which makes it possible to demonstrate the nonlinear transformation of waves and their spectra on the liquid surface, is described. The change of wave profile may be watched visually or, more precisely, on the screen of monitor by means of electrical registration of the oscillations. The "virtual" analysators are used for signal processing.

Laboratory Work "Mossbauer Effect"
V.A. Andrianov, V.A. Belavin, D.V. D'yachkov, V.A. Kvlividze,
I.K. Kostin, V.V. Radchenko
D.V. Skobel'tsyn Scientific-Research Institute of Nuclear Physics Moscow State University, 119992 Moscow

Student laboratory work "Mossbauer Effect" is done on the basis of computer modeling of a real experiment. The set up consists of the experimental device (the model of the Mossbauer spectrometer) and a computer. A student can carry out all steps of the Mossbauer experiment: to tune the spectrometer, to record pulse height spectra and Mossbauer spectra and to make least square fitting of the data. The lab gives an introduction to the basic types of hyperfine interactions. Isomer shift and line shape are studied. The methodology of nuclear Zeeman Effect is considered for a-Fe Mossbauer absorber as example.

Computer Modeling of a Rattleback
S.B. Ryzhikov, D.A. Grigoriev, M.A. Tikhonov
Lomonosov Moscow State University, Physics Faculty

Properties of a non-symmetrical hyroscope, a rattleback, are discussed. A modeling algorithm is presented and results of numerical experiments, that appear to be quite close to those performed with real rattlebacks, are analyzed. Numerical experiments performed employing the presented algorithms are recommended to accompany lecture demonstrations of a rattleback.
